WWE United States Title Match: Zack Ryder vs. Rusev

Winner: Rusev

Rusev stomps on Ryder. The “Hype Bros.” music hits and out comes Mojo Rawley to the ring. He rushes in and comes face to face with Rusev, screaming at him. Rusev backs down and leaves the ring.

WWE RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon is backstage with General Manager Mick Foley. Seth Rollins walks in and they remind him he has the chance to bring the WWE Title back to RAW tonight. Rollins is confident about tonight’s Triple Threat.

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan hyping WWE Champion Dean Ambrose up for the main event. Ambrose says Bryan was his favourite out of all the guys The Shield beat up but admits that sounded better in his head. Ambrose is confident about retaining tonight. Ambrose says The Shield goes to war and he will show why they drafted him.

Out comes Chris Jericho for The Highlight Reel. Jericho says this is the biggest Highlight Reel in history because his guest is returning to WWE after being gone for more than 9 months with a shoulder injury. Jericho mentions the SummerSlam match against Brock Lesnar and introduces his guest, Randy Orton.

Orton’s music hits and out he comes to a huge pop. Orton says Washington, DC has him in such a good mood that he doesn’t mind sharing the ring with “this guy” on the night of his return. Fans chant “RKO” and Jericho mocks them. Jericho says Orton is welcome because being in the ring with him puts Orton on a higher level. Orton says he’s in a good mood but that might change. Jericho wonders if it will be outta nowhere and says Orton better watch it or get hit by a Codebreaker outta nowhere. Jericho plays a video making Lesnar look like a beast.

Jericho says if Orton is scared of Lesnar and if he’s been avoiding Lesnar for 15 years. Orton knows Lesnar is going to beat up on him at SummerSlam and try to take him to Suplex City but he’s just one RKO away from Viperland. Orton says, “No enhancement needed” in a reference to Lesnar’s failed drug tests related to UFC 200. Jericho believes Orton will pay for that comment. Orton teases for an RKO but doesn’t go through with it. Orton comes right back with the RKO and leaves Jericho laying.

Triple Threat for the WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose

Ambrose celebrates with the WWE Title. The SmackDown roster, including John Cena, comes to the ring to celebrate with Ambrose, Bryan and Shane. Foley and Stephanie watch from ringside and don’t look happy.

The Usos lift Ambrose up on their shoulders and the celebration continues as Battleground goes off the air.

The crowd goes nuts as Rollins lays Reigns out. Rollins picks up the WWE World Heavyweight Title and looks at it. Rollins raises up the title as fans cheer.

               

Seth Rollins returns at Extreme Rules

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins made his grand and shocking return on Sunday night at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event by attacking WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns after the successful title defense of Roman Reigns against AJ Styles.

On November 4, 2015 Rollins tore his ACL, MCL and medial meniscus in one of his knees during a WWE Live event in Dublin, Ireland. The injury would set him back six months, and force Rollins to vacate the world title he had carried for 220 days.

Seth Rollins run into the ring and kicked Roman Reigns in the gut and nailed him with a Pedigree. He then picked up the WWE World Heavyweight Title and held the prize high above his head.



The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who was forced to leave the title due to his injury, did not say anything, but his intentions were clear — he wants the championship back.

Enzo got injured as he hit the bottom rope and  referee calls for a doctor as Cass is also over. The referee quickly calls for the bell as a stretcher is brought out. Enzo is taken away with no winner announced.

Out comes Vince and a CM Punk chant breaks out. He said how successful RAW has been over the years and the Punk chants start back up. Vince wonders how long they can go with that. Vince tells them to come on, they’ve got more than that. Vince calls them a crazy crowd. He says his favorite era would have been the Attitude Era. Vince says we have a new era and we need a new leader. Vince asks who should run RAW, his son Shane or his daughter Stephanie. Vince brings out Stephanie McMahon to more boos. 

Vince praises his daughter and The boos continue as she thanks everyone. Vince yells at the crowd and calls them animals, telling them to show some respect. Stephanie says it’s alright because she doesn’t want their support or sympathy. Stephanie goes on and says she’s a leader. She says The Authority also launched the WWE Network. She goes on and mentions Shane McMahon, saying he abandoned the WWE Universe for 7 years. Stephanie reminds her dad that Shane lost to The Undertaker inside Hell In a Cell. Fans chant “boring” now. Stephanie says Vince needs the smartest and most experienced leader he can have… her.

Shane’s music interrupts and out he comes to a pop. Shane gets a big chant as he enters the ring. Shane gives Vince credit for the WWE Network but says Stephanie can’t take credit for the 1.8 million subscribers, only the subscribers can. Shane goes on and says he came back to ensure the future of the company for his kids, Stephanie’s kids and all the fans. Vince talks now and says tonight is about him and what he wants. He wants blood, figuratively speaking. The CM Punk chants start again. Vince announces that they both have equal say and tells them to go figure it out. The music hits and Vince leaves smiling. Shane and Stephanie shake hands and they leave.
